I have finally got the 3.5 v8 into the novas engine bay, its not mounted in yet but i have dropped it in to give me some idea how the engine will sit and to start thinking about how the mounts will look. It just looks so right in a nova :D
Been having trouble uploading the pics but i have managed to get it on the feature.

the engine is made from aluminium so its lighter than a 2lt 16v, quite worrying really.

Really? :o
My first thoughts when I saw the front mounted engine was "thats not going to handle" but if it's lighter than the 2.0 16v, then thats a bit of a result :)
Good luck to you.

i no thats what everyone thinks, they see a v8 an think big heavy engine. I was quite surprised at how light it is, ive moved it on my own with out trouble. Its the american V8s that weigh stupids amounts.
Its the american V8s that weigh stupids amounts.
Tell me about it. I helped my brother put his 5.7l V8 into his corvette a few weeks ago. Must have weighed well over 1/2 tonne. Thats a small block V8 aswell, lol. God knows how much the big blocks weigh.
Jim
if there so light make a twin engine one lol
i cant f ucking wait to see this when it is done.
cant believe its lighter than 2.0 16V either :o
outstanding mate.

ooooh looka t those inlet manifolds, i was going to have it on a big webber 500 carb(think thats what its called) but quad webbers sounds even better :D
The engine at the moment is on an ecu, wiring doesnt look that bad really, but i do want it on carbs.
Also i have got hold of some rear slicks, 10 inch wide :D. Shall definately keep it updated as it progresses.
