What was your first car and why ?

Mine was a 1.3sr Since I was about 12 Me and me best mate always said when we start driving we were goin to get nova's :o ive had two now and still love em me mates not started driving yet but he's got a 1.2 four door lowered 40 on 15'' venoms looks pretty mint...

champagne gold metallic 1975 viva HC 1256cc Deluxe mate. the far left one in my sig. never got it restored though, so never drove it. it ran, but that was about it. been off the road for years it had. i bought it in 1998 i think it was 23 years old then; had 1 owner from new, 60,000 miles history up to 50,000 odd. manuals, everything. body was shagged though; as was suspension, brakes, engine lol. taught me how to take a car apart though. the green viva was my first proper (lol) car; as in one i drove and owned for a year.

The first car I had on the road was a '73 MINI 1275GT

:twisted: However the first car I owned and was building till I was 18 was a Pro-street '64 Ford Anglia which started life (due to my age) as a Bored out 1760 Crossflow, 1000 g'box and 1600E rear diff. (rocket off the line, reved the nuts off anything over 70mph though!!)
Later changed the engine to a Chevy 'Small Block' with Edelbrock cam, Fully blown etc etc.
Had a side-exit exhaust with ONE cherry bomb in-line. Was forever gettin tagged by the ol plod!

HOW THAT FOR 'OLD-SKOOL'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D

DID IT UP ALL ON MY OWN.

big bumper kit, colour coded mirrors, lowered 40mm,16" five spokes, Janspeed dtm upswept, gti spoiler, venom rear diffuser, rjm corner splitters, big white sunstrip, gti b-sting, naca duct vent.

was very nice but was slow as fxxk,so Sold it

my first car was a 903cc fiat uno.... Top speed of over 90 (dunno exactly as the car was shaking too much to see anything :lol:... on a private road of course...). Sold that, but still have the cigarette lighter for some reason. Then bought the nova merit (feature car) off my sister for some extortionate price, and made it look silly. Bought the shagged renault 19 last autumn, and promptly sold it at a tidy profit :D and used the money to buy & insure the saloon back in november, and used that as an everyday car whilst hiding the merit under a big blanket whilst it waits for a new engine.

Also had access to my dads cars (being fully comp has its advantages lol) which included 2x VW Passats, mk3 Golf GTi, and 1974 triumph dolomite.... *drool* lol

I've had 9 so far and i need about another 6. I cud drive before, drove most of my adulthood cos of my dads business, but there is still the test pratice to learn. for example marking out and checking on reversing around a corner and looking over shoulder etc, lil things they cud fail u on.

Good look with the test tho, i passed me theory other week and am booking my test soon.

Btw, my 1st car (actually registered to me) was my Mini.
2nd - Proton Persona Saloon (now sold, as i dont need it to learn in no more)

first car was a tangerine orange 1975 mini with chrome arches and nice wide mamba alloys lol. alas it only lasted 3 months with 3 engines

1.2 H reg nova merit mk2 black,
1.4 K reg nova sri red made into a Gsi look with speedlines,
1.6 K reg nova Gsi in red, driven home engine taken out and a 2ltr engine fitted, stayed like that for a year then i fitted a LET with a F20 gearbox, kept that in for 4 months then took the engine out and fitted a 6 speed gearbox, rebuilt the engine and then decided to go mad with it!,
1.2I K reg nova spin in white that is getting all the hand down bits from the turbo!

mine was a white d reg 1.2 antibes. i paid £150 for it & it was a bit rough around the edges. someone had resprayed it & not done a very good job. the blue interior was immaculate though. next i had a jamaica yellow 1.2L made to look like an sr. it eventually even got an sr motor in it & these 2 are the only cars i wish i could have back out of the 50 odd ive had
