Hi lads,

When you have done your 16V brakes conversions on your Nova's what caliper bolts did you use?

Your existing ones or the ones off the Cav/Astra etc?

My existing Nova bolts are too long to fit the caliper properly.

I have bought a setup 2nd-hand should they have come with the bolts?

Cheers :+:

which bolts do you mean?

the 10mm hex that holds the caliper carrier bracket onto the hub??

or the smaller 7mm hex one thats part of the slider assembly??

the 7mm one you will need from the cav/astra calipers

the 10mm ones should be the same - if its too long it would hit the disk - is that whats happening??

and if u dont have the carrier from the cav/astra you'll need that too

not sure of sizes but i mean the main ones that hold the carrier to the hub. My bolts are too long. The calipers on my SR are thicker on the part where the caliper is mounted (they have sliding thing that the Cav ones don't).

They are not so long as they are hitting the disk but that the calipers are wobbly when the bolts are 'tight'. I was thinking it was maybe because the pistons were way far back but I was told no this doesn't make a difference?

Got the discs, calipers, everything 'on' but then was told that this 'wobble' was way unsafe so had to put my old, shitty, worn SR stuff back on
the pain, lol

if the 10mm carrier bolts are tight then they cant wobble?

have a closer look - is the actual carrier moving? or just the caliper?

might find the sliders are loose or summat

prob the sliders are loose.

are they f*cked if they are?

thats all I know is that when the bolts are done up tight they still wobble!
do people usually use spacers on them or something?

Cheers mate

What wobbles when the bolts are doine up?
If the caliper wobbles, that is probably because you havent fitted the clips onto the caliper. There is alwats a bit of play without the clips.
If the bolts wobble, then I have no idea!!

i use the bolts off the nova hub, cant see why it would wobble though.

i know thats what I was like :?
clips were on mate.

it puzzled me aswell. It was as if the bolts were too long.

could that be it?

I used the existing Nova bolts aswell. Might get some spacers or something, what you think? or is that a big no-no? (spacers under the bolts).

Cheers for the help lads...its all abit puzzling, lol
