Has anyone ever fitted an electric windows closing mechanism to their nova?

I'm confised as to what will happen if the windows are already shut? Surely it will just burn the motors out?

I'm considering wiring a microswitch in so that it will know hen they are shut to solve this problem.... time to use some of my holiday up!

Any Gen?

i'd have thought it would just have the same effect as pressing the button to close the windows when they're already closed?

it detects the load and stops... if you have sticky windows it will sometimes stop half way

Even standard Nova ones? Sounds a bit advanced for a Nova?

its the control module that does the work.

basically it has some special type of resistor.

when the window is at the top.

electrical load is resisted as the motor cant go nowhere

i took mine apart to see it work

inside are two glass resistors with some contacts inside.

when it reaches X amount of resitance. the thing blows up insside.

the contacts sepearate and the window winder stops going up.

unit resets itself, and the contacts make contact again.

theres like a big spark inside the glass when it happens :p

well cool
