GSi Ignition coil

Just a quick question really. The GSi I have just bought has the same type of ignition coil as most carbed small block vauxhalls. Shouldn't it be the same one as the GTE? It's the Siemens ECU on the GSi if that makes any difference.

it uses the same coil as the 1.2 and 1.4 SPi engines fitted to nova/corsa/astras and maybe even some cavs
