2.0 engine mount

when u put a 2.0 in i know u need to buy mounts to lower the o/s/f mount but can u just remove the spot welds and move it down the required distance has any one done this??? and i know the mount kits are only ?50 but i just want to know if any of u have done this??? the distance is 1"-1 1/2" isint it....

yeah this is easily done by removing and relocting the mount, the rear mount will fit, but will wobble obout, as it needs spacers which are included in the kit...

all i used for spacers was washers on the rear mount and as for the front mount i made one out of a piece of angle iorn. 4" by 4" by 8 mm thick and 5" long drilled 4 holes with the engine sat level and bolted her up. she still sits fine now 8000 miles later.

well im going to give it a go ill move it down by 1 1/4 inches.. and use some washers for the rear mount then, cheers ppl oh how many washers?

depends how thick the washers are u need to space it 10mm between the mount and box. i used 5 washers on each bolt.
