WHY????

can anyone tell me why i decided to modify my nova?
i've spent best part of 8k in 'cosmetic changes' to int + ext. and over a year in time on it an it's not finished yet!
for the money i've spent i could be driving a 3.0 twin turbo supra or sommant equally as nice or be most of the way to paying off an escort cossie
my question to anyone is why did i start?
answers sent to my home or work address written on the back of a ?20 note

that white nova was mine till i chrashed it 2 months ago, im lucky to be alive.

i lost control and crashed into the back of a 40ft lorry :cry: :cry:

you'll think that up untill the point that someone spanks you in an LET Nova :lol:

trust me on this one, you wont regret buying an Evo, even if someone was to beat you in a straight line in a LET nova, you would leave them for dead around corners and if the road is wet, the nova doesn't stand a chance against an Evo.

A tuned Escort Cosworth might be faster than my Evo, but not in standard form. my Evo is running around 300bhp(100% standard engine/exhaust/filter etc.) the Big turbo escort cosworth was around 225bhp.
Also the 0-60 time of my evo is around 4.5 seconds, the cosworth is about 5.5.


The figures speak for themselves: 0-60mph in 4.4sec, 0-100mph in 11.2sec, 150mph flat out and perhaps the most accurate marker of it's eye watering overtaking ability, 30-70 in 4.1sec. In Bald terms you need nothing less than a ferrari 550 Maranello to go faster.

but ur forgettin, that the cossie was the original badboy'in rally machine that kicked audi's ass an were built to batter the lancia's of bak in the day. the way i c it is that the evo was built to take on ford an yes, they did it in style. but i used to work wiv cosworths at P J Motorsport an there mean machines!! i luv em

this evo was a lot of trouble tho
it was an old track car from japan
no history and it had been thrashed a bit

?2000 for and engine rebuild
?1000 for a racing clutch
?200 for an alternater (recon)
need a new pas pump
gear box was on its way out by the end lad only had 6 months at the most and just chucked ??? at it 4 more stuff to go wrong

dont get me wrong it was awsomly quick when it worked right

The nova is so much fun to drive and mod..although it would be great to have an EVO, i still love my nova

my nova's cheaper, IMO, looks just as good and i bet is as much fun to drive as an EVO :wink:

im sure you'll vouch for this john........its not all about 0-60, a standard escort cossy has a 1/4 time of around 15 secs?! the evo would be low 13's as standard, theres no competition
