im a bit thick and new to moding and i want sum sweet bass... what is a good budget sub & amp and how much? Ive been offered a Vibe sub with amp used for a good price outta limo is this any good?

Depends what the good price is, compared to how much the kit would be new (considering its age & condition etc as well). I'd say Vibe stuff is pretty good, a mate of mine has a 12" vibe sub and its pretty punchy.

As for budget stuff, sony Xplod pentagon subs are good and you can pick them up off the net for about ?45. For amps, i bought a cheap magnat one a while back and that gives good bass.

Cheers.. if i had a 300w amp wot kinda amp would i need?

lol u mean a 300w sub? Try to match the amp RMS power output with the sub's RMS (or as close as you can get, so if the sub is 300w RMS - not peak power - get a 300w RMS amp). Also if you only have one sub you're best off with a monoblock amp, but bear in mind if you decide to get another sub or maybe run some 6x9s off it in the future u will have to get another amp. You could get a two or four channel amp and bridge it to run the one sub, but then generally the more channels you have the more expensive the amp is.
