talk about a 'shit sandwich'

I think when you have a massive pile up, everyone should claim of the first person in the line that is damaged. So if there are two cars in front of you that were damaged then you and the car in front claim of the car AT THE front.

If that makes sense! lol

cooper_nova
13-04-04, 11:16 PM
lol neil but its not alway the first's cars fault

Wiggie
13-04-04, 11:40 PM
lol - nah to be fair i do respect the current system of the persona behind pay you.....but it still sux that my car only hold sentimental value

all that work to the crusher i spect

Unlucky Ellis.

Would be advisable to sort without insurnace otherwise will be 23 months until you get one years no claims.

Your car dosent look that bad at all, all you need is a Tailgate, Front and rear bumper and a headlight, all in shouldnt cost ?100. And thats if your front bumper cant be saved it dosent look that bad.

That shouldn't be a problem to sort out mate, the rear and you could get a replacement panel (if the boot floor is crumpled you might as well remove the spare wheel well and make room for twin exhaust.... ), new tailgate from scrappy or ebay for about ?40, then the front... well...

...i love that picture ... and that was repairable with a bit of jigwork and some T-Cut :)

ask her to get a quote for the repairs.... then just pay up... same for the guy in the rover make him pay for urs

i rammed a guy in an orion... payed him ?300 for his car and got him a taxi home... never heard from him again

14-04-04, 08:15 PM
sorry to hear that mate..

try doing it without insurance companies...like ste said, get her to get quotes and pay for it w/out goin through the ins company..could work out cheaper, especially if theres a tiny personal injury claim

Jack
14-04-04, 08:25 PM
are the mods (exhaust, skirts etc) mentioned on your policy? if not i'd recommend avoiding going thru the insurance comapny, altho i guess if the people either side of you get their insurance companies involved then you won't have much of a choice...

Wiggie dont you work in a bodyshop?

i used to..now im a asda elf :| i poped into my old body shop and they said blame it on the bloke behind me....but its too lat for that

but! there is still hope! the woman i hit in the ford has done a very nice thing and said shel consider doing things privatly. which has made me a lil less stressed. BUT the cock who hit me is getting mouthy with my old dear. he says he has witnesses that i reversed into him.....but i should be able to prove him wrong. this is getting far to shitty

im gunna pay for the fester with the money i should hopfuly get of the bloke behind....either way im left with a mashed nova. if i can ill bring it to the bristol meet.

Wiggie
15-04-04, 12:10 AM
cool. dunno what ya mean by MOT bits but cheers. iv got a tail gate but there is alot of damage undrnieth the tailgate. i shal show ya on the 25th if i can.

Wigz

Ben
15-04-04, 12:14 AM
Meant "most bits".

But as your car has recently passed an MOT if its settled privately and you can make the car safe, eg. no sharp protruding edges then it is still legal until it fails your MOT next year, so still able to drive the car.

Wiggie
15-04-04, 12:26 AM
oic i get ya. yeah thats why i was so happy to hear it could be done with out insurance. but nothings defenate yet. i think i mite be able to get it looking acceptable  which involved a big tree and a chain its worth a try. thats what we used to do in the bodyshop. but shel never look like she used to :( ahh well there was plenty of photos. this will just move me quicker to getting another one. i have a head lamp and tail gate. i will probably need a front bumper, rear bumper an off side indicator and a grill but iv got to worry about the woman b4 i can evan consider my self- ben ill cantact you when i have the money ect

wigz.

If the guy says u reversed into him, just get your car checked over by them insurance guys and the force of impact / damage will prove he ran into you.

Good luck getting it sorted.

Jack
15-04-04, 11:18 AM
Any skid marks on the road? If the guy behind u left any it implies he stomped on the brakes and slid into you i.e. his fault, doesn't really matter if u were reversing at the time... lol

the damage on yours is low... which shows that he was braking hard... just tell him you are getting an independent solicitor on the case i'd recommend http://www.canter-law.co.uk/ he'll soon back down

Wiggie
15-04-04, 10:11 PM
well its goin back down hill again now. it turns out that it would cost to much for me to pay privatly to fix the ford i hit,so its back thru insurance. so now iv got to have the car inspected. . . i cant remove the novadose skirts. might get away wiv it?

thankfully the woman i hit is backing me up that i didnt have time to reverse into him.

also the blokes wife (whos car it is) works for an insurance company :?

im gunna have to just let the insurance company take care of it now. bummer.

cooper_nova
15-04-04, 11:45 PM
