Poorly corsa!

Ok, bit of a long one but PLZ HELP ME!

I bought a corsa GSi about four months ago and i hate it. No matter how much i was getting mugged off for buying a poo car it looked pretty so i bought it!

Basically the piston rings have blown, it stinks, stalls and is on its last legs. Its done 125000 miles and needs a new engine. The gear box is also knackered (ie 1st sits where neutral should be) and the speedo dont work which Ive heard could b just a cable but I doubt it.

Vauxhall (surprisingly) quoted me ?2000, yeah ok?! My mate said it would be costing me over ?1000, possibly ?1500 because it does need new engine and prob gear box.

I really dont know whatta do. I havent got the money to pay that much on a car i hate, but spent 2k on it. Im an idiot, arent i? Any ideas, suggestions or OFFERS (!) would b fab! :(

u were ripped off mate, u can pick a second hand engine and box up for less than 400 quid

I need suggestions of what I should do with it. Is there a cheap solution cos all I have been told is that it'll cost well over ?1000. Does this sound right for piston rings going? I really cant b without a car but its gonna die soon if i do nothing. Dont think it would b worth selling it.

piston rings are around 40 quid plus all gaskets will be needed plus new oil etc..,,, its getting somone to do em! ive done a few, bit of a hard job really...proly be around 100 quid

ok. I will have to look in to that one. Starting to sound a bit better than what Ive been quoted! The car is knackered though and would ideally need a new lump. Well wish i had my nova back <sob>

if ur goinn to a garage u will get charged hundreds but other wise it wont hit u so bad, i need new rings 4 no.1 cylinder, but theyve not gone yet just loosing compression a bit so idles crap...

if ur gonna recon make sure u dont run out of oil as it will be burning lots!!!! yes its mine, annoying me at the moment, i just cant find a decent engine...

I just cant find a decent car! Bought a nova gsi after my sr and I only drove it twice and some guy wrote it off! It was proper nice n all (its under pats gsi on featured cars). Might just sell the corsa as it is, take out a loan and get either a fiesta zetec or a escort 1.8 si or rs2000. Really want another nova but aparently Im not allowed! How much do u recon i could get for the corsa?

get a new engine from vaux... they are cheaper than u would expect.... only a weekends work to fit

How much would a new engine be? Something like a 1.4 or 1.6?
