Have begun to remove the engine from a gsi i bought for spares.

Have took the radiator, airbox etc and manifold off and started to undo the mounts.

So the engine is virtually ready to come out.

Where should i support the engine from before undoing the mounts??

Is there just the three engine mounts??

Once its out im gonna re-con it myself, Does any1 know how much it should cost to buy all new gaskets and seals and manifold bolts, head bolts etc?

All help greatly appreciated fellas
cheers  8)

When i removed my engine to recon it i just dropped the engine + box onto the floor (sat on a wooden pallet) and i then tied the engine hoist to the slam panel of the car and lifted it up, prolly not the best way but it worked for me. When i reconed my engine it cost me around ?250 all gaskets, bolts, head recon, rings, brgs etc etc.

easiest way to remove the engine is from underneth, if you can lift the car high enough to get it out. There is only the 3 mounts and make sure you support it before these come off.

I used the drop an lift method, dropped the engine onto a skate board and used a hydraulic jack to lift the car up then wheeled her heart out
