nova back firing

its has jus had a new distributer cap and coil fitted by a mechanic as it was majorly back firing and struggling to start, and now its still back firing but slightly anyone know how to fix this? :D

has he fitted the above items correctly?id the timing correct?check plugs and fuelling also.

your timing is out mate. get it tuned quickly by someone with a timing light.

it should have marking's on it
on the top pulley there should be a notch match this up to the notch on the cam belt cover bolter thing

and on the bottom pulley it has another notch but on the engine there is a spikey pen thing match it up if it out one off these will not match
