I'm after some info about replacement batteries.
what are the best top quality batteries to go for?
what are the best average priced?
and what are the best budget batteries?
I have just had a load of stereo installed in my car, but the battery isn't really upto the job, so would like to replace it and would like to know the different options, makes, models etc.
cheers
John
get a cav td battery, you will pay the price. halfords atc sell them for around ?70.
motormania or motorworld sell them for around ?55
but they will keep the ampage up on your system.
would sugest a nove td alternator too.

cheers for the answer, but it's not in a nova anymore
basically looking for someone that has used different batteries like the optima yellow tops etc. Do they actually make a big difference? or should I be fitting a powercap or something to keep the power up.
John
I got myself one of the Heavy duty ones from Halfords John.
What do the people who are doing your install recommend?

Optima yellow tops are very good, they are not recommended for running the engine, but i know of plenty of people doing this and its not been a problem. They may be expensive but they last for years and are very powerful. Unless you are running a very powerful system though i wouldnt bother with the expense though. The Halfords batteries are quite good, as are Exxide (similar to Optima tho so expensive).
Personally ide just get an uprated standard battery for a small/medium system unless you want to spend the money on a deep cycle battery.
