1.0 litre engine problem

a few weeks ago i went to start my nova and all i got was a solid clunk coming from it (no whirring noise like u normally get), i fitted a brand new starter motor today but still the same problem.

my mate reckons the engine is seized

any ideas, if it is seized what sort of money shub i be payin for a 1.0 engine wif 90,000 on it?

it has been in my garage since september last year but i had been runnin it a few times a week, however it wasnt touched since january as i was away a uni.

I no u said the bat is not dead but i would double and triple check! I had the exact same problem and i sware blind it wasnt dead but it was!

Also check the earths.

its highy unlikey that it has sezied becuase they are pretty durable. was your oil level normal?? the best thing to do is get 1 of your mates to put u on a tow rope and toe u slowly while you keep letting the clutch out and see if it turns its self over. i did this we i had a crappy 1.4l astra while mine was avin work done. i thort i had sezied it cus id bee driving around with about 1 liter of oil in the sump for 200 miles....not good. check your oil levels and do the toe thing cus it will prob work mate

shove it into 4th gear and push like hell

the engine should turn over (u can see this by looking at the waterpump belt)

if it wont move try pushing harder ;)

but its prolly fucked if u and a mate cant move it in 4th gear

i had this probly when i picked mine up when i bought it, it had been stood for about 10 months and was sezied so we just pushed it and my bro let the cluch out and it stop dead(smacked me he on the back window :oops:) but we kept trying and then it went and didnt even tap :D
