1600 16v

found a couple cosas at my local scrap yard 1is a gsi and the other a 1600 16v sport! i can have the engine gear box loom ecu piping and a few other bits for just under ?500 is this a good price???the motor has done 111000miles! i had the wheels off the other 16v they r a bit close 2 my rear strutts though,about 10mm away is this 2 close?the car is at standard height(13sr) :roll:

1.6 GSI is the engine u want not the sport. It is an earlier engine (C16SE) that has 109bhp and the sport's has 103 i think standard.

What reg is the GSI? only the early ones had 109Bhp. Pre-96 i think.

aint sure what reg the gsi is im going out ther 2mo 2 pick up the shocks a springs off the sport!2.016v discs and cals plus the shocks r preety much brand new!?100 the lot(frt shocks and ciscs and cals)sound ok?

Surely from a tuning potential hed be better going for the 16v? Ok, it may not be as quick now, but stick some throttle bodies on it and all the other components needed and you could be looking at up to 180bhp.

confusion i think; snowface is saying take the corsa GSi 1.6 16v engine (C16XE) thats got 109 bhp and is pre '96.. leave the 106bhp X16XE from the corsa sport alone.
think thats what ya mean.

Ohhh, going for a 1.6 16v now Ollster? Thought you were going for the 1.4? How's the rebuild going? Any gen on when it will be finished?

its going fairly well now ive got off my lazy ass and done something lol. Yeh im goin for the 1600 16v on throttles, quiafe diff, hh plating kit, stitch welded engine bay, powder coated / chromed everything :D. I dont think it will see the road this year though.

I will be attending all the shows in my calibra SE5 this year
