i got a 500 watt sub and 2 6x9's that have a recomended output of 250watt.
im running them off a 300 watt 1way amp or 150 2 channel.
it was all going fine for about an hour then it stoped.the fuses in the amp has blown and not at the battery i changed it and it keeps on doing it .
HAVE I FUCKED THE AMP UP or is it repairable?

i think the amp was under powering the subs and speakers; too weak for em. need to match amp-speakers better next time....
look at RMS wattage ratings rather than max wattage.
Buy an amp with 250w RMS (bridged) to run a 200-300w RMS sub.
or an amp that does 50w RMS per channel to run 50w 6x9's.
its just all about matching the ratings.

Try the amp with just the sub on it. I have a feeling you have bridged the amp to a lower resistance than it was designed to run at, which will cause the fuse to blow.
If you set the amp up properly it wont have a problem running a 500watt sub, the sub will just be a little underpowered. As i say as long as the gains are correctly set this wont be a problem.

wot under powering a sub fcuk it just as much as over powering it tho?

Is the source aint clipping its very hard to 'over power' a sub to a point of damage.
Its much more dangerous to underpower a sub, as the amp will be working alot harder and causing clipping, which will damage the sub
EDIT: But as i said above, as long as the amp doesnt clip at all you wont have a problem, and a difference of 200w isnt much
