i got it :D
im gonna take the carpet out carefully...
get a blue dye from a fabric shop (i think u mix it with water or sumthin) So Im gonna fill up the wheelie-bin out the back, bung everything in it and leave it for a few hours, hang the carpet up to dry and hopefully it should be blue-ish :?

is the carpet grey to start with? that might affect the colour.... maybe bleach it first?

you will have to be careful dying the carpet as you may have problems becasue of the plastic content of the carpet

i cant c u bein able to dye a carpet thats grey to start with, if it was white then maybe but even then itd be patchy, u can buy fabric spray paint and protector to go over the top.

hi mate,

just a thought..
im after adding some colour to the inside of my rather bland 1.2 nova sting..
How about bass box typ carpet? some nice colours available, and it aint too expensive from ebay etc..
I reckon that you could do it either recarpet or just stick over the top / glue and stapels??
what the rest of you guys think?

cheers

wot about making ur own carpet from household carpet. just think nice thick plush luxurious carpet in ur nova. might b worth looking into?

novaal

i thought of that..
but I reckon that household carpet is too hard to 'mould' to the shapes of the inside of a car? its pretty hard stuff to work with wouldnt u agree?

Maybe ther are some available that are easier than others, dont know?
anyone ?

hi guys just remembered my user name after about three years! anyhoo - i got some carpets from a classic car place - gave them a ring asked if they did one for a vaux nova - they said theyd make a template and asked me what colour? they sent a few samples out to me so i could see the difference. the place was called coverdale carpets www.coverdalecarpets.com it cost ?90 but the edges were all trimmed in piping and all the holes pre cut - even a wear protector on the drivers side! nmice and thick too I too was going to dye mine until i realised that standard carpets are nylon - and the dye wont take , my mate is thinking about ordering a jet black one for his gsi

The antibes came with a blue and red carpet I believe. However, as has been said, you'll be very lucky to find a coloured carpet for the Nova. Best thing you can do is see if you can get carpet from another car to fit. I would suggest getting some coloured box carpet, but its not really thick enough or hard wearing enough for everyday use.
