wot sorta power does XR2s have?-he mk2 kind that every twat seems to have,along with a wank sticker on it and a funny ariel as the standard ones pants?-theres loadsa these XR2s rumbling round Lincoln at the moment,and they dont seem too quick,watching em,I just want to know wot Im up against if I try one in my 1.2 mk1 with its K&N(only :()-I know how to get my power down well,just want to know if my cars up to it really

You might do them off the lights but not for long they'vr got a lot more power than your nova. But saying that my mate used to race them in his 1.3 metro GTA and win at times, all depends really, just avoid dual carriage ways

i managed to beat one and i had a slipping clutch ffs. mind you it wasnt that much of a race. more of an off the lights dash for a lane but i won it :D

1.3 can keep up with them in a drag race, but if you wanna beat them good you need a 1.4i with all the usual mods!!!:D

erm xr2s are 16carb fed engines only nova that will give them a race are GSI's.

and i dont care wot u say cos if u bet them off lites u was thrashing ur car and they couldnt care less.

LOL, Only GSi's well me, Dicko and Ste give em a good thrashing. Ask lancy about on the way to sandbach Services and they were XR2i's. I've got an SRi, Dicko is a 1.6SR and Ste has a 1.2 *ahem*.

i beat them all day everyday in my 1.4 sr i beat the newer 1.6i too. Easily keep up with a 1.6 16v si!!

That wont happen unless you mod yours a bit, why not try a 1.3 cam, new gearbox and performance clutch, then get some twin 40's...then you will be upto 1.4SRI speed roughly...maybe more depending on what you do.

Was behind a Nova 1.4SR and a XR2 at some lights the other day on a dual carriage way. Both were revving like mad and went off like bats outta hell. Nova was battering it all over for a while then XR2 got in front... then there was a great big bang and a plume of dark grey smoke came outta the back of the poor ickle XR2 and they slowed right down and took the first exit they could find... Poor babies... Should get a propper car. At least one thats made by vauxhall if they don't want a nova. B-)

my 1.4sr used to keep up with xr2s up to an indicated 130 then they ease away but only after 3miles from a standing start

i agree, they r wank, i couldeasily beat them in my 1.3sr, even if they had a few mods, i must admit between 80-100 i had problems up the M1 racing to gatecrasher once, but still kept up ok!!

People with XR2`s like crammin loads of passengers in, so when you see one with 4 or 5 people in it, then have a go bob. If you still cant out drag em, you`ll be able to out handle the saggy arse ford! (appologies for using that word.)

I used to want an XR2 for ages,till my mate got his antibes,he was well happy beating a"fiesta XR2i modded to fap"-which actually was a 1.4,5door old laydee mobile,which he only pulled away from cos it was a 30 n he was doing 70-made me larf,but I fell in love with his nova,thats why I got one,although I have done a bit more than adding a gearknob n gaitor...

xr2 standard have around 90bhp so think carefully if racing them in anything less than 85bhp in a nova

carbed xr2's = 96 bhp
injected xr2i's = 110 bhp

They're apparently quite quick to 60 according to me books (aint got 'em handy tho) but I dunno.. I think they're all fucked now :D

well bob ive got a nova sport with a 1.6i engone in and the other day an xr2 and an xr3 pulled in next to me @ the lights they thought it was an SR hahahahahaha i absoulutly battered both of em i then let em sit up my ass for about 1/4 ands they thought theyd over take ....bad move against a highly modded 130 BHP gte hahahahayhahahahaha i aslo had a 1.2 with a k+N bout a yr ago i had races all the time with Xr2's they r nothing m8 first off the lightas ...just avoid big things ....like dual carraigeways lol round bends and twons ud piss it mate depending on ur susp and handling just dont be a Pric$ and race on a dual or motorway or youll be roasted alive

I hate to say it.... but I just bought an XR2i, I have to agree with 13SRboy.

And I've only had it bout 12 days, I've raced a Nova SRi, guess who won?? me.
