been off for bit while i had no internet connection but now i'm back on ntl broadband( :D )

spent most of the day on the phone to them with the tech suport bloke trying to sort it out so it was working properly :roll:

thing is the computer i'm using now has never been used for the internet before (only used it for word processing in uni) so it has no anti virus or other protection so i'm starting to get problems allready.


went to microsoft for a firewall and signed up for the updates thing and have downloaded AVG anti virus (first free one i found).

am i missing anything else???

Norton system works, good package but TBh i dont use anything because it slows the pc down to much.

you will find pop ups and viruses will slow it down more, LOL

AVG should do you fine. Ideally you want a firewall aswell. Zonealarm is probably the most used one. You can download a trial version, but there are full versions availble if you ask the right people.

ive got zone alarm as my firewall and avg as my virus scanner and neither have let me down.
