I'm looking to remove the Standard carb from my 1300 manifold, to fit a 32/34 webber. However i cant see how it screw's off?

Any advice/guide on doing the swap much appreciated!

Undo the three nuts at the top of the carb and carb slides off the pillars. Get a stud remover to get the studs off the manifold. Fitting's self evident. One thing tho: You'll have two water pipes left over. Connect these together with a short length of copper tube or something and jubilee clips.
Looking into the bonnet, the mixture adjustment screw is on the right at the base of the carb. Screw it right in, then screw it out untill your car will idle (involves lots of restarting).
Drive slowly to your garage and get them to calibrate the ignition timing and mixture setting
Sorted!

When its done make an accurate note of where the mixture screw is set then try adjusting slightly to see how it affects the car at full open throttle. Worth a try especially if its cammed. Or if your not one for fiddling, leave it alone!

Or a pair of mole grips, that exactly what i used. Grip as close to the base of the rods as u can though.

...or do as I would and file some flats in the studs, then use a small spanner on them. (or pliers)

Does anybody have a plan or tech drawing for the Adapter plate that needs to go between carb and manifold? I'm thinking of converting my spare 1300 Manifold ready for when I get a Weber.

If you file the rods make sure you block the inltet holes so no filings go into the manifold - cylinder.

The engines being rebuilt as we speak. the manifold/carb is already off the car.
