nova 1.3 sr engine help needed...................

hi all


just got my sr back on the road, wanting 2 do my engine up big style got about ?3,000 2 play with ( cant go up 2 a 2.0 16v till next year as ins ),




any 1 got any seg or can help plz e-mail

Well even with ?3000 there is only so far you can take an engine. For the 1.3SR you could change the cam, add a gas-flowed head, 4branch manifold, and change other parts of the exhaust system for GTE equivalents.
Then you could upgrade the carbs to either Weber 32/34DTML,add around 8bhp, but with your money i would go with twin 40's to see the maximum increase you are gonna achieve.
Full S/S exhaust system.

But really, i would not spend ?3000 on a 1.3SR engine, you could drop a GTE engine in, wouldn't increase insurance as much as 2.0. But it ain't really worth it.
But if i was you i would wait till the insurance calms down a bit and get a 2.0 16v, and mod from there. The standard 2.0 would double the power from the 1.3SR, and you would still have money left over for other mods.

To turn a Nova into a road ripping rocket ,2.0 is the only option!!!!!!!

you'd have cahnge out of a ?1000 with the mods described above.

Best off modding a 1.6 with that sorta money.
