i thought you needed a big fat bolt to put it to.
does it work well??
chaps
well it works ok for me, i've not had any problems... might help earthing if you scrape a little of the paint away from round the screw where it contacts the bodywork (not so much that it will rust tho)
for a nice place that you connect your earth to is. the same place the seat belt clip bit goes. undo the bolt and push the cable under it.
if memory serves me correct, i think you have to earth the amp within 50 cm or somethink of the amp. some think to do with the greater the distance the more power loss. some one will no doubtly confirm this.
Sorry for hi-jacking your post,
but i have a question,
can you use the same point for multiple earths. Like can you drill one hole and then just add all the earths you need, do they need to be seperated or anything????
cheers

ive used the same point to earth my 2 amps
ive just earthed it off the boot floor
works fine
So you can just basically have a bolt with both earth rings on and then just a nut/washer to clamp them.
yep, should be fine, all my neons are earthed off the same bolt, its got about 4 connections coming off it!
if u went some where like city electrcal factors and asked for an enly bock or earth bar u cud use one of them

use lots of grease to prevent rust! -specially when scraping paint (which is a good idea when youve got high ampage earths like on an amplifier! as the more are for the electricity to flow through the better)
a good idea is to look at the size of the cable and compare with the earthing point and think 'is the earthing point going to cause a bottle neck in the current flow?' because if it is then it will still work (for a while) but might get hot or/and cause corrosion and eventually loose sound quality!
-so make sure your area of point of contact is at least the thickness of your cable (hence paint scraping) and grease it up!
