Car progress - better pics up

Car went in to my local body shop yesterday morning for quite alot done to it.

Went this morning to have a look at the progress and i was shocked quite abit to be honest.

Gonna be ready for this saturday.

Its having done:

Arches,
Acouple of new panels fitted,
Dints knocked out,
Bonnet vent smoothed in,
Side skirts fitted & smoothed,
Side repeaters removed/filled.
Spare window wiper hole filled,
windows re-tinted
New spoiler fitted
Delocked
new Alarm/cl fitted
new window surrounds
VW metallic black respray.

Im excited! :o

all the paint (primers/laquers etc) cost ?297 and hes charging me 300 to do it.

I know him reasonabley well and im a reqular there so hes charging me for 3 days labour instead of 5-6 which is quite good.

Also if theres anyone else that lives in the area, hes looking for business all the time and will do you good deals. Since ive been going to him hes never overpriced me on nothing.

Its alright for some. Mine went in over 2 weeks ago to be painted and they havent touched it. All it needs is base and laquer. They said id have it back within 5 days.

lol we all have problems. Hed been telling me since february, 'this weekend bring it in' then i get a call.

Hes had a VW camper in which u can just see in the background since January. Had a new hydraulic roof, spax adjustable suspension (which cost 739 quid!!) Interia all stripped, alloys full respay in red and white. Looks quality now.
The roof is awesome!

i knwo how you feel when you go to the body shop and see your car being worked on.

I kept pooping back every now and again, see how its going on.
One day i went and they had stripped it to the same state yours is in at mo, thought, oh thats not much...
Then went next day and loads was done, skirts fitted and smoothed, door handles removed, locks gone, side repeaters gone.

BUt then for couple of weeks not alto happened as they had other work. BUt it got finished.

Good to get feedback from another source. I've been up and down throughout the rebuild, I'm a natural worrier, so I usually assume the worst, lol. I think I've come to my senses now, so it's a case of waiting to see the end result :)

Been going to the bodyshop each day of the week and theres been huge amounts of progress. Hes been staying till about 10 at night to sort it for me so cant fault him on that and the quality of the work so far is mint.

Went this morning and these are the pics i got. He sent me a txt earlier about 5 minutes ago saying that its now gleaming black :D :D :D

Going to get some more photos tomorrow and it will be ready for saturday :D :D :D

I couldnt wait till tomorrow, got some pics on my phone, it is unbelievable, i never expected it to look this good.
It kinda changes colour as you move around the car between purple, dark blue and silver. Looks unreal, i luv it :D :D :D :D

Ive got a gsi engine waiting to go in at is garage so when that is going in hes doing the engine bay then, I would have had it all done at once and put the engine in while it was being sprayed but i need to lose afew points before ill be able to insure it at a reasonable price.

Going back this afternoon to pick it up so ill get some more pics with it all reassembled.

Gonna upload some pics off my phone asap. The paint is strange, i decided to get for V reg Vectra black as my mate at work has it and that has a real nice shine but doesnt look anything like it lol. I think the colour looks mint though and im pleased with it.

It will be my every day car as i cant afford to run 2. Wish i could though :D

Its going back in next weekend to have the interior done, i needed it for lastnite for east mids cruise 4 which was good :D

last week felt like murder without my car. Glad i booked the week off work so i didnt have to get the busses at 5:30 in the morning.

All together, including labour/paint, ?550. ?300 for the paint and ?250 labour, which was cheaper than i first expected. For the money and the quality of their work, its amazing.

Unsure of the actual paint, ive got the code for it written down somewhere but its from the 'V' Reg vectra. Even though it seems different to my mates vectra but nevermind, i luv it :D

It was getting tatty around the edges. I wanted some work doing to it. The rear arches were a mess, lol. The white trim is actually a silver edging strip. It's all gone now though :)

LOL, you'd be surprised at what lengths some people go to. If you'd have seen my car in the flesh it would have been obvious why it needed some attention. It looked ok from a distance and in photos, but I was ashamed to take it to shows.

LOL, you're not far off. He's had it since August last year. I went today and he's been making some realy progress on it over the last couple of months. He's been putting it back over the months due to Insurance work that's needed to be done. I'm glad he's not rushed it, but I am looking forward to getting it back :)
