verniers are only needed on highly tuned engines where getting the ignition timing spot on is paramount for peak performance. i think the cam in your 1.4 is the best there is for the 8V's as far as duration and lift goes, maybe different to the non injection 1.4 one?? not alot though, no need for a vernier!, wouldn't really bother to be honest, not worth the effort

The 1.4SR cam is the best Standard Nova Cam, although I've been told that an Astra 1.8 (8v) is better still.

Yeah, apparently the 14NZ Cam is the best

I think the 1.4sr cam has the same inlet lift as the GTE cam but more exhaust lift.

does anyone have any other figures for these cams other than lift?

GTE has longer duration than 1.4sr but overall i think the 1400sr is better with its higher lift.

the cam in your engine is shite :P

one of the reasons the spi's produce much less power is they have shitty cams

get a 1.4SR or a GTE cam in there

no need to get a vernier or anything
