Im getting really in-patient with them now,

After phoning them up for a re-newal and wanting to put a 2ltr in my 1.2i they told me,
Them: We dont cover for engine conversions,
Me: Well i know some people who do have conversions and are insured with yourselfs.
Them: Nope sorry dont do them.

So i phoned back STRAIGHT away and spoke to someone different and they went and checked it and they then covered me for it and said it was all fine and the do cover for it.

Then Yesterday!...

Look at my bank account, and for Febuary and March ?181 has been coming out to Liverpool Victoria instead of ?47 whcih it should be, so i phones them up and speak to some one,

Them: Oh we did receive your cover note on 15th febuary for a Clio you canceld but someone forgot to cancel it. I've canceld it now and ?317 has gone back onto your Budget(people who take the money for LV) account and your premium will come down.
Me: But i need that ?317 as you have now left me with ?7 for two weeks as i wasn't expecting ?181 to come out this month.
Them: Sorry but we cant give you the money back to your account. Ok ill pass you onto someone else...
New person...
Them: yes we can refund you the money and it'll take 4-5 working days to go back in, ill pass you to someone else who'll do it for you from the Budgte accouint team who deal the the money and accounts.....
New person...
Them: sorry but we cant give you the money back as we dont have any way of doing it.
Me: so i have ?7 to last me for MOT and TAx and things i have to pay for, for a c0ck-up YOU LOT made????
Them: I can only appologise for the incovenience it has caused but it will bring your premium down.
Me: But thats no good as i NEED the money, is the no way you can do it?
Them: no sorry.

so i hang up and go to my bank, they try somethingbut the money will take 4-5 working days, still no good for me...
So i go outside and ring Budget account people again and try to sort it out, this time the woman tells me straight away that i can do a aminety claim for the money and then at the end of this week i can pay the ?47 off my card and get it sorted, so after thanking her alot i go into bank and they do this which is refunding the money back to Budget(LV) and then me paying it later, aslo the money going back into my account.

So im happy now.

But the story is that at LV not everyone knows that they are talking about! So dont beleive everything you hear from them!

Be careful!

They are a shoddy company.

Good luck if a claim is ever needed to be made. If it's successful probably worth buying a lottery ticket on the same day.

LV are always being moaned about for crap service, if you don't get a quote off them, ring back until you do because eventually someone will say yes!!

I agree with XZibit, HIC have given me excellent service and the guys on the phone seem to know their stuff. Gonna ring them later and ask how much a 2.0 8v conversion would cost as my mate has one for sale... :D

the best thing to do (what i did) is to pay it all off in 1 go when u take out the policy.

A. Its cheaper and B. u don't have to worry about such incedents.

Just save up for 4-6 weeks before u are due to take out your insurance.

If we are talking ?2000 + i can see why it might be an option though.

im paying ?1100 fully comp, its the best quote i got, ?90 a month, so i accepted it, obviously!

im only on 300 a month, so its not bad, i havent had to make a claim yet, i foned them for details, when i told them a plan to tune the engine, put on alloy wheels, up grade the grbox, get a PP and to put on a thatcham approved alarm system, they didnt want to know!

the only thing they will void me on is if i up the cc of the engine or add nitro, lol, which ive got no chance of doing anyway!
