Gear Linkages for a Valver

Just put me valver back in and it wont go into 5th and is really sloppy, ive spent a good few hours trying to get it right, but no joy. Just wondered if anyone has used the griffin motorsport linkage in a valver and if it is any good? or has any advice on any other way to get it into a 5th?

was it a 4 speed nova before.. if so u need to cut a piece off under the gear gaitor.. the reason it feels sloppy could be cos the bushes on the linkage are worn.. try changin the linkage i got a standard one from breakers for a fiver worked for me!

Hate sorting the linkage out, probably the worst bit of the whole conversion.

Yeah, the little nylon Bushes are dead in Padges car, but even so we should still be able to get 5th? :|

I've heard some people hack of the plastic bit at tghe bottom of the gearlever.... To allow it to go across futher to the right to select 5th.... Is it OK to do this?
