I just bought a Renault 5 GT Turbo

Mods to be completed in the following year

K&N induction kit
Single wiper conversion
Menace body kit
Scorpion exhaust system and 4" bore
Debadge & respray
Full carbon look interior
Cobra bucket seats

and that is only the start

What is your opinion and do you have a GT Turbo?

i would say that standard 5 that has been lowered and mods under the bonnet would be kool!! have you got any pics of your 5 mate??

but i do prefer standard ones in white or black!! but sayin that they are still french hehe!!! :lol:

I havn't got pictures yet but my next step is Lexus rears and 18s on it it will be the sexiest car in town. I havnt got pictures but its white and gleaming.


EDIT how could I forget to mention 60mm lowering springs!

all well and good modding bodywork mate, but a little advice, they are not the most reliable car to come out of the garlic land.But they are fast when tuned, but my advice
uprate your headgasket asap
buy a low temp fan switch, and thermostat
alloy header tank /expansion bottle as standard ones pop
copper rad and strapped and flowed intercooler or even better charge
cooler kit but expensive.

concentrate on keeping it cool,as they do overheat if not cared for but good luck nice cars

look at bb tuning,gt tuning, and k-tec as well as 5's r us,hill power

i had one a red beast was probably the most trouble i ever had with a car :lol:
don't get me wrong when it worked it was ace but more likely than not it would develop some problem!
i sold mine cos the bearings in the turbo were about to give up an someone wanted it for a project!
oh and by the way: if you've got a mk1 the inlet manifolds melt as they get too hot so make sure you got the mk2 with the cooing fan!

i would never trust the cooling system on a renault, that would be the first thing to sort. Then again its french so therefore i'd never own one.

I like R5's but you need a deep pocket I bet it goe's wrong in the first couple of weeks of you drivin it :!: let us know how you get on with it :D :wink:

Renault 5 GTT's......... now theres a subject close to my heart, i have owned one since i was 19.

Dont believe all the rubbish you get told about reliability, they are the same as any car you treat them right and look after them then they'll behave, if you wack the boost up to 2 bar on a standard h/g naturally its gonna blow.

Record qtr mile time was put in for a GTT yesterday at Santa pod of 12.61 secs.

As Breeny says get on www.rtoc.org and join up its only a tenner for membership and you'll get all the help and advice you need and with over a thousand members there are bound to be some helpful ones in your area :D
