Centre Console

I know this may sound stupid and it does to me but, I cant seem to fit my centre console in.

I have tried everything including removing the parcel shelf etc but its just not fitting right.

Is there a special way of doing it?

is there any difference in the MK1 console and MK2?

im pretty sure i got the MK1.

what dash do you have?

square shaped hard plastic?

or round shaped soft vinyl?

to ME..... it sounds like youve possibly got a mk2 dash and your trying to make the mk1 centre console fit.

Im very sure i got the MK1 dash. its da very hard plastic type. my car is a C reg so its deff a mk1 dash.

Just cant seem to fit this centre console in at all.

Whats the procedure to fit the MK1 console?
