hiya. i got myself a minter of a K reg nova sr in red. registered in 1992 its in mint condition an seams 2b well rapid. fink theres a triky cam in it? neway, does the 1.2cc head swap work on an sr or only on a normal 1.4i? i would like to try it but i want 2 get as much info as i can. also, k+n donbt have the SR listed for an induction kit but do they make one? ne help would be greatly appreciated. nice 1 thanx guys! :)

sounds like u have a sri or either a center point high torque engine...
it definitly aint an SRi. but wots the high torque engine? i no wot torque is and my car shifts like fek. i jst want 2 tune her up using other vaux parts if possible. the engine i fink is stock besides the cam but the car is a minter, ill try an post a pic.
neway do u fink the head would work an would be worth it?
im jst tryin to kep build costs to a minimum so ne good cheap mods would be nice. thanx guys :)

yeh 1.4i will be the high torque 1, 60 odd bhp the sri is 80... if u can source an sri nick the head off that ive 1 for sale on ebay... collection only

sound. ill get me 1 of those i fink. could i hook up an sri manifold to my motor then a GSi system behind that? i no the SRi manifold will fit on the SRi head bt will it fit on the normal 1992 SR head?

it will fit any head but is more hasle then is worth, lots of wiring and an sri ecu which has to be used..

1991 1.4SR - use the head from a CARBED 1.2 or 1.3. Instant improvement! You can't get an induction kit from K&N because you don't have injection! You need a bolt on filter instead.

does your engine have a round bin-lid style thing for an air filter or a box on the inner wing behind the head light
my air filter is a massive bin lid stylee contraption. standard piece of cr*p

look in his other post. It is Definatly an SR ok people, not an SRi.
Put a 1200 head on and put ur 1400 cam in that.
That'll give you about 5bhp more staight off and will cost u next to nothing.

Yes! finally snowface has got the idea. it is not an SRi. trust me. its got SR graphics splattered all over it and on the log book!

if its a k reg its injection, i bet its a 1.4i centre point injection, and some fool has put the sr graphics on it... it can only be an sr (carbed) if it was stored and not regisetered when new 4 a couple of years...

the log book says its an 'SR' but for sum reason its so quick! ive driven a 1.3 SR and thats nowt compared to my 1.4!
the previous owner took it 2 santa pod but he has kept the times he got.
i think the only way to resolve this is to post a few pics of the car, including the engine!

i may only be 18 but trust me guys its an SR. fully comp insurance on my own policy 4 ?1399. thats wiv zero no claims!

?1399 is quite a lot to pay.
I pay ?860 on my '1300 merit'. Its got a 1300 sr engine in.
its not a bad price for my first car with zero no claims at 18 tho :D
Yeah i don't think that's too bad a quote for an SR, considering your age and lack of NCB. My mate martin was getting quotes around ?1500 for his 1300SR in his name. Tis all down to where u live tho mainly....

kreg SR's do exsist, just made a the end and sat on forecourt for a while so registered as a K still made in 1992 tho ;)
went on autotrader.co.uk ;astnite and saw a K reg Corsa SRi for sale! Corsa's all started on an L plate! its shud still be there so av a look an see wot u fink? its black. :?

As for the corsa SRI k plate yes corsas were brought out on K plate and the early SRI's had the same engine as nova GSI's
