in the haynes manual it tells u exactly where the mixture screw is.

why do you want to? is it actually running lean or are you just trying to make it faster?

that doesn't directly mean it's running lean. You should get the emissions checked before playing about with the carb.

iv'e got the same problem!
i got a mate to check the emissions with his detector and it says its running lean. we tryed to look for the mixture screw but couldn't find it.
iv'e looked in the haynes manual but it doesn't show where about in the engine it is.

iv'e got the mot coming up very soon and it was close to failing on the emissions last time.
i need ergent help please!
its a k reg 1.2i.

cheers

Well, probert_nova
you ain't gonna ave a mixture screw because your car is a 1.2i(injection), the mixture screw is a carb component. The ecu in injection models controls the mixture depending on certain inputs.
So that is why you can't find the screw.

Lee-I can tell you where the screw(s) is but you shouldn't really mess with it, get the emissions checked and then go from there.

how would you suggest i solve the problem?

the CO on a 1.2i should be well below 0.3% which would appear lean on a carb but perfectly normaly on a catalytic convertor equipped injected engine
