anyone done anything exciting with them?

im bored of them.

dont particulary want ally ones either. dont see much of an appeal.

best idea i have so far is to remove them and fit LEDs - could i wire these in parallel to my exisiting alarm LED? so they all flash in unison :D

depend on what sort of current that your alarm sends. If the alarm feeds a constant live to a flashing LED, then this will be fine. however IIRC some alarms send a pulse of electricity to a non flashing LED. You should find out which yours does first.

the best door pins i have seen are the really short ones. so when you lock the door, the pin drops level with the door cappings. (stops thieves being able to use them too)

I've done exactly what srs1 has said. The original door pins can be trimmed down so that they finish flush with the top of the door. All you have to do is press the door pin down and then mark the door pin where it finishes with the door. Then unscrew the doorpin and cut about a cm (or where the mark is) off the doorpin. lightly sand the edges, then screw it back in place. The doorpin should now sit flush with the top of the door.

Best thing to do with door-pins, is to have the door de-locked and de-handled, and have the door-pin on the OUTSIDE of the door, to be used instead of a handle/solenoid popper.

The previous owner of my car put alloy handbrake and door pins in. I've sprayed them Matt black and they look pretty decent. I want to paint the bands around them white at some point to make them stand out a bit more....
