I have got t40's off a 1.3nova sport and want to put them on a 1.4 sr.

I have got the correct inlet manifold and gasket etc.

I was wondering if ne1 can give me some advice as to whether I would need to get them rejetted serviced etc. or could I just put them straight on?

Any advice would be grateful!

Also how long will this job take and any advice about actually doing it would be grateful.

Thanks everyone!

Do you have the alternator bracket, throttle cable mounting plate, throttle cable, air box etc?

Is your engine standard?

Engine is totally standard at the moment.

I was told did not need throttle cable etc as already have them in the car at the moment.

Do I need to chage the ones i already have then?

you want to run a 1200/1300 head with that setup 1400 head and inlet wont match u will lose lots of power.

dont need the airbox

doesnt make sense.

i have a 1.4sr and putting 1.3 carbs on- that is what all the novas have done- seen it done myself so I know it is the right way round.

no mate the 1.3 inlet manifold will not match up with the 1.4 head!! the 1.4 head has square ports and the 1.3 inlet has rounded ports!! sorry they wont work properly!!

I have got the correct inlet manifold bought it brand new
got one that goes from 1.4 to the weber's so that is fine.

misunderstood each other.

Will I need to rejett them service them etc?

yup .. and the timing ...they run a bit more advance... we fitted a lambda sensor from webcon and found fuel pressure VERY important ..too much and u cycle too rich as the fuel is forced past the needle valves ..also float level settings ...

What part of that did u peeps not understand? :D

U prob need to get them re-jetted. Get the car rolling roaded to get the most out of them.

The nova sport carbs arent particulary well suited to any other spec.

They run quite a lot of progression holes and were specialised for this reason.

Get late series 151 weber 40s and it'll be much easier to sort.
