mk2 grille fit a mk1 nova?

just wonering if a mk2 grille would fit a mk1? as the mk2 grille that ive seen has extra bits on the sides, as opposed to my mk1 grill that doesnt.just wondered if the bumper would get in the way? cheers, rob.

the grille on a mk2 extends down under the headlights (they're thinner on a mk2). So to put one on your Mk1 you'd need the lights, wings and grille as all are a different shape. I *think* you can get away with using a Mk1 bumper, not too sure on that one but i'm sure i've seen it done (mk1 bumper on mk2 front).

theres a nova on here that has a modded mk2 grille to fit a mk1 front. Jus need to cut the bits that go under the lights so they are thinner and drill sum holes in ur bumper so it pegs in. I think?!

the headlights not fitting the grille :) there was a yellow euro style mk1 in TV a while back that had a mk2 grille... the problem is mk2 lights are more angled down the inside edge than Mk1s so the grille is angled too... mating them to mk1 lights will leave a triangular gap. You'd be better off picking up some Mk2 lights from a scrappy or ebay if you really want the grille, it will look much tidier

need new wings deffo i put a mk2 front end on mine, need lights, grille and wings then ur sorted. I still think u shud go for moddin that mk2 grille for the mk1 front end, if it goes wrong uve only fucked a grille up, but if it goes ok then ull have summet different! Worth a go.....

Mk1 Grille WILL go on a Mk1 front as long as you have the headlamps. You can keep the k1 indicators. You'll either need to cut off the pegs or drill holes in the bumper for them. Anybody who's seen my car will know that it's possible. (Although technically my car is a Mk2!)

cheers for all the replies. so is a mk1 sr grill the same as a mk2 grill? just the outside, no midle bit or griffin badge, so i can put mesh behind it.
