Hi Ste I'm Neil off Novaload, got the blue/purple nova with silly blue chrome wheels.

I live in sheffield and need your help.
If you cant help dont read any further.

I have fitted a 2ltr 8v out of a cav sri and have wired it upto the point where if u turn the key the engine turns round.
The things left to do are Pop in driveshafts as i dont think ive pushed them in far enough, wire up the coil and get rid of useless wires.
Fill with water and oil and change oil filter.

If you can help can you let me know please.

All expences will be paid for and more
I'm coming to my last resorts and in desperate need of help.

Neil

yeah cheers ste, very mature.
Dont matter, got it sorted with mike now, was on a downer when i wrote that as i didnt think mike could come up iwth us both working and finding the right time. but me and mike have talked and are sorting it out for very soon!

The reason i used PM is so that i didnt have to anouce it on NL making a pointless post. But you've done it anyway so just making it a waste of my time really.

Mikes a top ab fab bloke so im sure he'll be nicer!

there are many people that would help others on here for the sake of being nice. this surely demonstates the other!

Ste, i dont think there is any issue about money etc more why you felt the need to post in general chat a pm that was meant to be private. Not everyone has the knowledge you have and i think you need to think about your replys sometimes, and the reasons why you use the forums. I personally thought it was to help others and learn a thing or 2 along the way. Oh and to make new mates, in my eyes you just mad yourself look a bit of a fool.

We are all in it for the same reason's and think you have been a bit harsh mate.

?Marty?
18-03-04, 04:50 AM
^^^ that is a good point.

However, you're all being harsh on ste too. All he's done is posted the PM, and didn't even alter it/written any piss take comments.

It's not a big deal surely?

Fair enough it's a Private Message, but it's not one that has 'sensistive' information in it or anything.

I am advertising 'a ladies cherry for the taking' to a winner of an essay contest, with the aim of posting all entries to humiliate their writers, aftre the closing date. That might be worse?

I think it's a bit shitty really, bloke was only asking for help!

And Marty - as the title has LMFAO in it I would call that taking the pi$$, wouldn't you??

The fact that everyone knows how long it has been taking for neil to do his conversion and the fact that in other posts he has ignored or cast aside any advice from people, I think it is pretty funny that he has finally asked Ste, could have asked him months ago and the car would be on the road by now.

And as for Ste posting it up here, maybe not the right thing to do, but he did offer to do the work and contribute the labour cost to NL, so it's not all bad.

not takin any digs or owt here but I don't understand why you've asked for help neil
the engine turns over
you say you need to push the d/shafts in........so do it
what was needed to go to the coil?..... you must have known, to know it needed doing?
getting rid of wires.........see what's not connected and blank them off/remove them.
simple oil change and rad flush + fill and you're sorted

you identified all the problems and solutions so why need ste's help?

I dont think anything that Neil wrote in that PM was that bad, you can either do it or you camnt, obviously he was fed up and wanted a hand.

I also dont think that Ste is out of order by posting it up, if anything it has had a posotive effect as a result others have offered as they obviously never knew Neil was so desperate.

When i was stuck i asked Ste for help and he drove nigh on 300 miles to help me get my car running (never worked though  ).

No harm done at all really.

Ste_Nova
18-03-04, 05:26 PM
yeh but ur wiring was a mess :P

it's harder sorting a 1/2 done job than doing a full one straight through

Ben
18-03-04, 05:29 PM
Yeah well if the wiring was straight forward i would have done it myself lmao.

?Marty?
18-03-04, 05:50 PM
However, you're all being harsh on ste too.

I think it's a bit s**t really, bloke was only asking for help!

And Marty - as the title has LMFAO in it I would call that taking the pi$$, wouldn't you??

Yeah, but i read it as him laughin at the fact that he only just spotted a PM or something. In fact it made me look at my message thingy, and i realised that i had one myself! lol

I don't see anything wrong with it. The PM isn't anything 'private' - it's not like he said ''please don't tell anyone....'', and by posting it Ste has only publicised the fact that Neil wants some help, so he'll either get advice or offers off help by others, who otherwise might not have known about it.

And some people just don't HELP THEMSELVES, it's all very well asking for advice but that alone is not enough.

And finally, it makes no difference to WHAT the nature of the PM was in any case, just because someone makes the choice of sending him a PM does not put him under any obligation to KEEP IT private.

Any PM i send, i have no probelm with it also being in the public domain. Marty has no skeletons in kis closet. Sort of. lol

I may personally of taken the thread in the wrong context then?

Just that i thought it seemed ste was laughing at the fact the lad was asking for help when the work that needed to be done was fairly simple, guess this wasnt intended then?

Dont think there should be hard feelings between people on this site, as most guys seem to be decent people
