Ordered some Gsi skirt clips from a complete bellend at my local vuaxhall garage, aint got them yet lol ! 4 weeks and waiting !

Just wondering, i really don't wanna put any rust on my car cos it's rather mint structurally, getting 2.0 litered next yr !

I know you can rivet, drill holes, or my mate suggested just self tapper som screwed in to hold the clips on, but i don't wanna do it !

Has anyone ever tried just using some sticky pads ? like the shit they used to hold bumpstrips on ? aslong as thyehold and stick flush it should be reet !?

Or use gripfill or someother stupid adehsive ?

Cheers Nick

You can use that liquid glue stuff that comes in a gun cartridge thing. It must be good quality adhesive though, not sealent.
But i don't know how secure the skirts would be, i would just use some self tappers and then skim filler over the screw heads to hide the screws. To try and prevent rust paint the exposed metal from the screw hole, and try and put some filler/sealent on the screw to try and prevent water from getting into the hole.

So,basically you could try it with adhesive/or like sticky pads, but it is best to secure them permanently with screws.

I find if the side skirts are painted (to a high gloss finish :D :D :D )
the GM clips kind of create a rippled effect along the length of the skirts, so I used rivets along the bottom & sikaflex sealant along the top edge.

Maybe I'm just too superficial
