Will installing a switch on the wire that runs to the carbrettor make it able for driver to control the choke?

If the carb has no power running to the carb, the Auto choke will not be on?

I know that once engine is warm the switch would have no effect, but when cold u could turn off choke manually when u got going.

it would work in reverse

that wire poweres and electric heater

as the heater warms up it turns the choke off by means of a bimetallic strip which bends when it gets hot

if you disconnected this wire your engine would run on choke permenantly ;)

id guess sticking 12v down the temp wire would do the opposite

it would think its hot enough and not heat it

erm actually with the power disconnected to the auto choke the auto choke still operates !! the main control of the autochoke is done by water temperature

Some Astra Carbs only have an electronic heater and not a water temperature. I had one but it's now on my mates car using the water temperature cover off her old carb. I' pretty sure I could get you the elctronic one if you wanted, I don't think she's chucked it.
