Just put some nice original 3-spoke SR wheels on my car to give it a nice standard SR look, but damn they are close to the calipers! what size spacers do you need to run the bigger brakes up front?

by rights they shouldnt really fit.

it must be because your pads and/or discs are sufficiently worn.

when you swap pads etc youd need spacers anyway.

id imagine between 5 and 10 mm would siffuice

if they aint touching then its fine

they are a ball hair away from the original astra gte alloys with new disks n pads so dont worry about spacers for now

when u need them get bigger wheels

spacers = nasssty

Not got the Astra calipers on yet - these are the Nova Calipers that are close! Mind you my braking system is totally messed up. (turn right and you get a horrible noise plus the brake pedal will rise, straighten up and it goes down again! :?

what about them? How much can you grind off the 16v calipers btw, thinking maybe that's the way to go (as well as a 5mm spacer)

Did somebody on here not say that one version of the 3 spoke wheels wouldn't fit over the 16v brake. i'm running 5Jx14 will these fit?

Thanks Will - can you get 10mm in a single thickness i.e not 2 5mm spacers? Rally regulations prohibit multiple or laminated spacers.

5Jx14 ET 49 won't fit James, that's what I have.

Really? Fancy coming down to Pwllheli and showing me how? :) If I can find some 3 spokes off an Astra GTE then there will be no problem, either that or put my old alloys back on...

Really want 16v brakes! Kind of urgent really as my brakes couldn't stop a reliant robin let alone my Nova!
