f13 gear box

a mate of mine has just offered me a f13 gear box. says it's been tweeked a little and tops out at 130-135. and was from a gte.

my question is, will this fit on my gsi engine, and is it worth doing (as i dont know what the std f13 gear box tops out at)

it will only top out at that speed if u have the power to do it, but if i was u i would go 4 a f13cr with a 4.18 or 4.29 or silly 4.53 final drive ratio which gives better accelration, but if u want boring acceleration and good top speed which will get u banned get a wider ratio box with 3.53..

should i just go and pick it up and see what it says on it. i know it came off a 1.6 gte and all the engine mods were lightened and balanced block and a bigger cam.

chances are its the exact same box you have already.
You have a F13cr fitted if its the original box for that engine and he is trying to sell you a F13 from a GTE which is a close ratio box the exact same as yours.
stick with what you have because if he reckons the GTE box will do 135 its not the same final drive as yours which is 3.74 and unless you have more than standard power his box will feel slower than your own.

ha ha me to but i think i may have 1 in i of my spare gearboxes but im not sure cant find any got dam codes on it..theres 2 lsd's goin 1's stupidly priced the others not so bad.. theres a 3.94 diff final drive there 2...
