View Full Version : softstar problem!
i bought a set of 4 "courtney sofstars" from a guy on here not long ago. they arrived today and whilst inspecting them i noticed that it says ET38 on the inside :o
i tried them on the car and they do stick out a bit but not much.
do you get ET38 softstars or have i been robbed of my hard earnd cash?
will running et38 cause a lot of problems?
they say made in germany along the side if its any help.

dont know if they make softstars in et38 but if they did and you want to put them on your nova then i think your abit stuck!!
as you have probably heard before from other people you really want a offset of as close to 49mm as possible!!
i could not tell you what to do now though mate
i've had one on the car and it goes on.
its been raining here so didnt get a proper chance to inspect it.
could ET38 mean anything else??

even if you could fit them lol lol
then your car would not handle very well
neil the lad with the blue chrome wheels his r et38 i think and there 17's he had to have his arches flaired\rolled
pm him and ask him
also wont the wheels bollox ur wheel bearings up after a while and i thought it'd tram line
there only 14"
if i could run them ok then i would keep them as i dont mind the look.
they fit the car as i had a front one on earlier.

u say they fit fine on the front....
u should have tried the back first
ill be suprised if theyll fit.
sorry
mike :|
I had to have the arches slightly flaired out and front and back, u can see ever so slightly...

I've seen a nova with arch mods with BBS RS wheels, 6x15" et 38mm 195/45/15 fitted like a glove lowered 40mm, so if you are using narrow tyres like a 175/65 ther's no reason they shouldn't fit, as long as your rear beam is straight. They're not gonna be any wider than 6" are they????
car is lowered 60mm.
chances are i'm just gonna sell them now AT A LOSS!! no doubt.
i wanted et49 wheels hence softstars but these arent softstars so gonna just have to find a set.
i take it these wheels are for a VW/honda (just to help out with selling them)
as far as im aware most new vaux alloys are starting to move away from the ET49 mark
i know 16" softstars are ET42
14's et38 should be fine tho m8, my brother is running 15x7 et38 and his is fine, plenty of clearence on the front, tho he has saloon back arches so hes got a bit more space, should be fine tho with a small wheel imo, best to try them on the car and see.
