Have got about ?500-?600 to spend on my gsi engine. Its smoking like mad so guessin it needs a rebore or rings. What could I get done to the engine to make it faster?
Already have a full de-cat system induction and cam.
Was thinking that if the head is comin off to sort out the smoke, it may aswell get modded.
Cheers for any help.

Went and asked mw performance and the guy said just put a valver in it ?2500! :o :o

Well if you say it's smoking why not got your bottom end overhauled and bored out to 1650? either that of just get it overhauled and get a flowed head.

Chris

PS. Look at the 1600 8V tuning guide (http://www.novaload.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=82247)in this forum, it covers alot!

?500 is about enough to get your engine over-hauled. You could get a rebore and new pistons (?300) new bearings and gaskets (?150) ARP rod bolts (?75)

All this would bring the engine back to life, whilst this is being done you could re-lap the valves back into the seats. This would then give you a good engine to build upon in the future.
