I've jus got in and just beaten a fiesta xr2. It was along a main road doing 20mph+ through to 80mph. Well, I just sat behind him accelerating up his arse more and more until i had to drop back.

Could my car realy beat an xr2? (1.4SR) Or was the geezer driving an idiot or was it thrashed? I didnt think my car would beat an xr2

i reckon it is possible i used 2 own 2 xr2s(ages ago)

they was fast at pickin up speed but then the acceleration just dies and u stay at bout 90 4 ages(unless my xr2s were different 2 other ppls)

Actually in general I prefer vaux to ford. HOWEVER, the cosworth is in a different class to the cav turbo, hence me not understanding why you would rather have a cav. I know your loyal to vaux and everything, but be realistic people.

well the 1.4 sr will beat a xr2..but not an xr2i,i use to own one and it was well quick,but there not reliable..this is why i got my nova GSI,but it is slower then my xr2i was..

The only cosworth i would have would be a merc 190 or the toyota mr2 cosworth.

Cosworth made the mistake of putting their powerfull engine into a car that cant take the power ie the sierra and escort. quick but the handleing is all other the place @100 and above

Im dont worship vauxhalls as their nothing special although i would prefer a ca or calibre 4x4 turbo over a escort or seira anyday.

faster
better looking (admittedly this is a matter of taste)
more exclusive (rarer)
and most importantly, its much more popular with women

Right little misunderstanding there. Id propbably favour a cav turbo over a sierra cosworth as well, but the same cant be said for the escort cossie, but hey everyone is welcome to their opinions.

I think that the Found On Rubbish Dump is bollocks. Im not the biggest for fan, as I said I prefer vauxhall, but Ford have made some stonking cars in the past, and m not going to criticise them just because I drive vaux.

the ford focus wrx is actually a good car. So are the puma racings (not the dealer version but the version they build at Ford Rallye Sport - the cost 96K and will beat most things out there handling and speed wise)

:( I must admit, i was never a Ford person, but until my boyfriend got his Escort Cossie, i was very impressed. He's only had it just over a year, but it's never had a problem *touches wood* and the stares we get in it are unbeleivable! I think they look great and perform spot on. Ford shows are really good as well (never thought i'd be going to any shows relating to Ford) and the members are really friendly and helpfull, something i often find is lacking with the Vaux members (imo) If i ever get rid of the Nova (doubtfull) i will be on the look for an Auralis blue Escort Cossie as my first choice of car, obviously get something else as a runaround as the cos would probably be sat in the garage with the bonnet up more than be driven lol.

easy mate. cos its the under-dog. how cool wud it look beating a cossie with its loud whale tail and beefy vents by a smooth subtle look vauxhall cavalier. the cav costs no more than ?4000 nowadays and is relatively easy to extract power from. an escort cossie is way dearer to buy, find, run, insure etc. i agree it is a better designed and executed car; but the cav's more of a laff.
