only really seen them on new cars but they're number plates that have a rainbow like tinge to 'em. just wondering where from and how much as mine are tatty. i know about the i.d and donor card details one needs to give to get a plate nowadays, working at halfords; people to this day kick up a fuss about it; the rule/legislation's been gonig over a year...
anyone got one?/pics on one?

those rules and regulations are a complete piss take!

i got a 7 days rectification notice off police when some tosser spraypainted black lines all over my car (including the numberplate) and then struggled getting a numberplate within that time since most of the required documents i could not get, for one reason or another i.e. they wouldn't accept my old style paper license without passport and i'd lost my passport, my bank account is an internet bank so they wouldn't accept a printed off statement, and etc etc.

And when i pull up into the car-park with the car and want a numbeplate that's already ON the car, i have to go through all this bullshit just to get one. It's fuckin stupid.

Tho i can still get plates made up with no id required from some 'backstreet' places, so the legislation doesn't prevent anything.

And if i walk into halfords with a numbeplate and ask for an identical one back, they won't do it. What exactly is the point of the legislation, to prevent me fromg getting a numberplate i already have!?

I do understand the aim, but it's all flawed.

You will see a lot of people with plates with a pink or blue ting to them, thats because they havent removed the protective film from them.

Anyone know any online number plate companies?

There's one called GT Grafix or something, forgot the url tho. They were a good one. Even do crabon fiber lettering/numbers and you can even state what size you want the plates to be. like 2" by 8" lol

edited to add: ok it's THIS (http://www.gtgrafix.com/).

edited once more to add: oh and you wont need any id to buy from them. Usually you'd have to send copies of id, but they sell all plates as 'show plates' to get out of that. Tho do state whether they do or don't conform to legal requirements.

I would expect this is to prevent road tax evasion and speed cameras etc..

^^^ yes it is. And to prevent car crime. Like, you can put numberplates on certain cars that have 'vanished' thus make stolen cars appear legit. Without going into detail.

I'm all for it, but the god damn inconvenience. lol
