is it worth paying extra for 195/45/15's rather than 195/50/15's?
will the 50's fit lowered -60mm :|

i've had
195/45 16"
and
195/50 15"
both with no probs lowered 60mm
really depends on your offset!

yeah i have 195 45 16 lowered 60 and no rubbing. The 45's on 15's will look better but 50's shouldn't rub if you have the correct offset.http://www.novaturbo.com/100_0338.JPG

resize it dude
I cant it is one of the few pics i have on my novaturbo.com server but i cant log into it at the moment so it'll just have to stay like that. It's only to show the wheel arch anyway. 16's lowered 50-60
I've had 195/45/15 and 195/50/15 expirience
Basically theres 3 things u consider
mk1 or mk 2 (model ?) ?
Offset ?
Lowered ?
seeing as u only say it's lowered 60mm it's hard to help.
My wheels are et -42mm. so they\'re 7mm out
With 195/50/15 on they hit the arches front a rear. when the car was loaded n on bumps
with 195/45/15 they minorly hit the rear arches, so i got them rolled
now the car is lowered -40mm, just normal 1.2 orginal. and my wheels now clear back arches, only cos of the tyres and hit the front arches slightly now but not too bad. If i had 50's on they would have made a mess of the car by now !
Basically if ure mk 1 get 45's !
ure lowered 60mm so get 45's !
if ure anything beter than a 1.2 get 45's !
45's will not scrape as bad. i picked up mine for 40 quid each !

ive got 195/50/15 and when i have 3+ people in the car, over bumps and unsmooth roads it rubs. ive got a mk2 1.2 the wheels are offset 49mm
purplenova- how much did you have to pay to get the lips cut off the rear arches and is any rust treatment needed?
cheers

did it myself with an angle grinder, Dont cut all the way back though. Afterwards, i covered it with sealent and then went overit with lots of hammerite. There is no metal showing.

They are definately the wrong offset.
Ill take a photo of mine and upload it later today - 195.45.15 with 49mm offset lowered 60mm. Theres still bags of room too for either bigger wheels or going even lower.

(arches are abit scabby but will be sorted next week). Theyve not had the lip cut off and i can fit my fingers well easy. (just reading that, it sounds kinda dirty lol)

This is a pic of how it sits. Looks lower in life than the pic though for some reason.
Hope this helps.

because of the tollerance they built the cars too! something like 10mm allowed on the axle width so it could go either way. You caould have one nova where the axle is on the upper limit, and the another where the axle is on the lower limit so 20mm difference between the two!

if the pics dont work, right click on the red little cross and copy the url, then paste it into the address bar. Think that should work.

the reason they dont work is because that server doesn't support remote hosting. try this
