hi guys, gunna be fitting a new head soon and was wondering what I could do to the bottom end to give it a bit more life as it is most probably abit tired now. I was thinking piston rings? what else could I do...? How much are the costs likely to be?

ive just done a full rebuild on a gsi bottom end everything bar the oil pump, costing 170 quid, when i came to start it the pump went doolaa! so i got bored of rebuilding and just bought a new low milage bottom end out of a corsa.
so i have spare shell bearings and piston rings for a 1.6...
