CAN THE LATER ECOTEC OUT OF ASTRA THE X16XLL ENGINE WITH IGNITION KEY IMOBILIZER BE USED IN NOVA ? I WAS TOLD THERE IS THREE IGNITION MODULES THAT DO IMOBILIZER . CAN THIS BE TAKEN OUT IS WIRING SIMILER TO OLDER TYPE ?

yes it can be done quite easily the only extra stuff you need is the transponder chip from the lock barrel and the wiring from it, and the chip from the key. other than that its just the same as fitting the c16xe

jUst fit a corsa gsi lump. Ecotec are WEAK

the XEL is 100bhp as standard

X16XE from corsa gsi after L/M reg is also an ecotec and runs 106bhp

the C16XE from L/M reg corsa gsi's is not an ecotec with 109bhp

so unless u find a rare as fuck C16XE your buying an ecotec anyway

the 10 bhp difference between the range of 3 engines isn't really relevent as it is all easily made back so whichever you go for is irrelevant as you will ditch the egr/cat/inlet manifold etc. to put it in a nova anyway so by the time you do that to any of the 3 engines you will find they are all making the same power figures or near enough anyway
