i need suggestions for what car to get
itll be a weekend car so doesnt matter to much about reliability, mpg etc.
iv got 2yncb so it has to be reasonably cheap to insure (lower than a group15?)
budget is about 5k
so far im thinking clio 1.8 16v/williams
an old festa xr2
and thats it, lmao
suggestions welcome :D

A girl at work has a starlet turbo i didnt think they wer 140 bhp though!
Its down to you what car you get Dan as its you who's going to be driving it.
Fuck what everyone else thinks
Have a look on parkers.co.uk Dan, most models of cars are there..
What do you want? A fwd small hatch? I'd go rwd 8) You can pick up an old 200sx for ?1k ish and spend the rest on modding it! You can easily get 270hp out of them, perfect for drifting
And yes there only group 15/16.. lol

i like the idea of the 200sx but my mates about to buy one, so thats out the question
i think id prefer a fwd hatch
iv test driven a startlet turbo, good cars, very quick but not sure on insurance/parts being an import!

a mate of mine has just sold his s1 escort rs turbo, and still has the 200sx it's faster than you would think!!but hes not impresst with it and has just got a golf mk3 vr6,and he say's it pulls better?? i think he is mad..he needs to find a car he can keep for more than two months!!
so if i was dan i would look for rw drive cus when i had a go in the 200sx i was lovin the sideways action!! :D :o .....got to be done..
scott :)
How about a Volvo 440 Turbo. They're suprisingly quick, very cheap to insure for what they are. 1.7 Petrol Turbo engine running around 160bhp, only cost ?1-2k. Save your self a bit of dollar and blitz it on ur nova.

not keeping the nova, got a company car so i just need a car for weekend/trackday fun!
the volvo turbos are fookin 'orrible!
Ok then, what about a Mk2 Astra 16v then do some engine mods, T45's?

depends mate if you want style and power or power?
im in the same boat not sure what to buy?
you could pick up an early type car and put a bigger engine in it,
i.e fiesta xr2 with an rst lump tweaked in it,.......a nova with a valver in ,....a renault 5 turbo tuned, .......uno turbo ,.....escort rs turbo,.......clio 16 v tuned up,........bmw 325i sport rwd fun,........civic vti eg early type 160 bhp standard few mods 200bhp,.......pug 205 with an mi16 lump,..... :D , so many but depends if you want style and power or just power mate :D

DUNOVA.

No novas look better because there windscreen is at a different angle to the bonnet and the back of the car is not flat like the 440
The only way you will be happy is if some tells you they have a F355 Spyder for sale for ?500 with 1 years free insurance. I know it would make me happy
get a sweet mark 2 golf in oak green if you can 16v model, look wicked or any late g,h or even rarer j reg gti's most have metallic paint, and build quility is wicked and styling is boxy like the nova.
not sure about performance though mate, but styling wise i think they can look psh, hard, racer look, and stylish but fcuking hard to get a clean low mileage model i was looking and still am but hard to find nice 1's :D
dan_mk1
11-03-04, 06:36 PM
