Hi there, I installed a new HU (Sony) in my 1.3 a while back but find that everytime I turn my ignition the unit resets itself. I remember reading that this was due to a couple of wires being the wrong way round?? If this is correct what wires do I need to swap?? Can I just cut the two wires and re-arrange and use some bullet connectors or something??
Thanks.
it sounds like you have not wired up the permenant memory feed.

it's not the head unit fault. They are wired correctly according to the International Standards Organisation. It is the car manufacturers who got it wrong. So stereo manufacturers started to adopt the new 'incorrect' system.

Agree with PurpleNova - mine and my dad's CD player wiring is totally different despite both having ISO connectors!

yep! if you compare all head units, the wiring on the plug will be the same. But on some cars they swap over the live and switched live.
i just chopped the connectors off mine and wired it all up differently... has its own independent power supply, can stay on when ignition is off. Just gotta make sure i remember not to flatten the battery.....
