Jus a quick message to say bye really.
I've neva really felt that i got on with anybody on here except frog, dan_16v, twag + mike_sri who r all from my area anyways.
The only person i kinda got on wiv on here was Will but he knows i hardly chatted to him much.
i never felt welcomed at meets or at the shows, jus got blanked by people. its a shame really caus i fought u were all a good bunch of lads. you are but your not very welcoming to new people. you should chat to everyone @ meets and not jus the 'breeny' crew, make the new people feel welcomed.

yeah i was at trax, Pv2003, and 2 milton keynes meets, i was the reason the beast came from regal.

i was at pv and trax 2003 and at both events we stood around at the stand for long periods randomly chatting to ppl i didnt know
and as far as i can remember u were not around much at either event so i didnt really get to know u
i find the best way to get to know novaloaders is to get in there and talk to them - i rarely spoke to will before trax but we met up so he could get my ticket and we've chatted on msn ever since
selling the car and buying an astra mk4 to get noticed isnt what its about for me - i enjoy the nova for what it is and to be frank there are few newer cars i would actually go and spend my hard earned cash on - hell i doubt many folk really paid much attention to my saloon at PV - i only ever saw one group of guys looking at it closely and they had baught one themselves to do up and were looking for ideas - i chatted to them for 5mins totally out of the blue about the mk2 facelift n shite and they were sound
fergie, sorry you feel that way. i dont really talk to many peps on here, but those i do, make the effort to talk back. i dont know, maybe you got to talk to the wrong bods.
but all i can say. is good luck to what ever car you get. you did the nova justice with your mods.

Fergie, there are so many people off here I don't know and have never met.. you should have come up and said ello or something at the meets. I don't recognise people from Adam or Eve so ya should have just said something! The only reason I know most of the major people on here is because how long I've been here (Along with a few other members) I really don't know many of the newer members at all.
Most of my time at the last MK meet was spent taking pictures after I turned up late (as usual lol) We then went into the pub!

There's two problems about meeting people in real life off here. First is people act a lot differently in real life i.e. are moere quiet or whatever, and the second is people get all shy and wont say anything
if someone says "see that guy there thats xxxx" you just get yourself over there and announce who you are
its true, everyone will say, ill say hello to you at the meet but many people are shy and dont, me myself dont talk to many peolpe but did last MK meet, met Mel in her boot, her m8 with long brown hair(male), wiggie aswell i think(looks about 16) corsanova_mark for first time.

I never knew no-one off here, until i went to Mx Live in 2000 and met Ian Storey. We chatted for ages, and I have been a permanent fixture ever since.
I think the major thing about people not speaking to others is that a lot of people have given each other shit on here and are worried they are gonna get a crack in the mouth of the people they have offended! :lol:
I notice a lot of people post on here with shit I wouldn't say to my fucking worst enemy! :D
It's easy to be a "telephone toughguy!" and that translates to the net. Many things are said in the heat of the moment!

If you really want to get noticed and have people talk to you, you are gonna need to be more active on the site... get involved in discussions a bit more so people get to know what your opinions are about things etc and you will find out who you get on with and who you dont more easily.
Its never a good thing to see people leaving the site, especially if its because of something negative thats making them leave.
No need to leave the site to be honest - but hey, if you wanna burn your bridges and leave yourself open to "I thought you had left" comments if you pop back on again, so be it.
You really have to make an effort to get to know people from here, as they do all know each other well already.
I dont know many people that well. I have spoken to andy in real life just once, but we get on well and are alway in contact with each other.
Cambridge I met for the first time when he tried to stall my engine at trax without even introducing himself (he didn't manage to stall it). We chat about crap on msn loads now and his UK house is only about 15 mins from mine, so when he is back im sure i will go around for a cup of tea and a battenburg again lol.
I went to the same uni as Will and we chat on Msn occasionally. I also chat to Fester and Cool.marty a fair bit even though we have never met.
The reason the "Breeny crew" are so close is that they socialise in real life and work on their cars together etc. You say their are a few people near you, so why not form your own "fergie crew"? People will then feel left out as they want to join your crew :D
Ive been to 2 MK meets and Trax and at all times I felt on my own to start with. You just have to have the courage to go upto someone and introduce yourself (or try the cambridge way and stall their engine lol). Im sure there were people there that you have spoken to online, just didn't recognise. IMO you shouldn't sell your car and leave NL for such a trivial reason.
I think I only know a couple of people *in person* from NL - Ian S, NJCii and Ben - The rest I could walk straight past and not know who they are!!
I know what some members look like from seeing their pics on here but I don't know them to speak to, people like Breeny, Tilly, Mike Oxford etc etc etc
I also *know* people through emails and PM - Rick Marland, _Ben_, Epo etc etc but again I've no idea what they look like and don't really know them to speak to either but it won't stop me making an effort at PV04 and VBOA this year to try and get to know them.

i agree with jules i dont really now many people on here because ive only been on here a year but i have met a few people off here like rick marland , tony dry , jk , and lee haslem i met the last 3 while we was helpin tony put his let in his nova i didnt know the but i spoke to them and they were ok guys ive since spoke to jk a few time through pms ,rick through e mail pm an phone and tony i see quite a lot , as for every1 else i hop to meet some more people like andy, epo, srs1, etc etc at the shefield meet :D

well i aint got much to say apart from shadow the words of others, people aren't forward enough at shows in general so will feel left out.
As for different when u meet people in person, pretty much everyone I know are the same on here as in person, its just a game of taking comments the right way and knowing how people might think. I've met alot of peeps from on here and those that know me, know i am what i am lol, poss even abit more of a clown in real life as always on the piss take or out for a giggle. Also maybe get involved in things and help others out like we do at car parties, I've met/got to know a few new peeps at them who travel down to help out or need things doing.

to be honest, i'm the same in real life as i 'act' on here, though i guess it is very easy for people to develop 'alter egos'.
though whilst i talk to anyone and everyone on here, a lot of times i don't like it when people come up and talk to me in the street. Especially when it's people i havent invited to come over and talk to me.
Fergie, its a shame that you're gunna leave NL..and i know for a fact that you'd regret selling your nova now, especially after everything that you've done on it..

i never existed till easter last year lol
ive been using this site since waaaay back when it looked more liek windows explorer lol, but only got dragged (and i do litterally mean dragged) by Dan to a MIG RR day, where i met Tilly, CP, Breeny and some of the mig folk.
since then ive had more of a laugh because ive met homos like Chris T, Will, Alex etc and they are reasonably ok :D

I'll admit that am fairly shy when it comes to meeting people in person off the net but CP helped quite abit with that at trax (the only meet ive been to) introducing me to afew people.
Abig thanks to Ade though as he gave me the trax stand pass.
Ben & Corsanova Mark were helpful people also.
Epo's a sound chap too for coming over and avin a little chat.
I understand what you mean though fergie, we were parked next to each other and dont think we even said ello.

I can understand that some peeps are shy and feel awkward about going over to someone and saying "nice car mate and you are?" but thats really all it takes. We have all done it at sometime. We didnt just always know each other - we met up at places like milton keynes and then just started chatting and away it went from there.
If you have bothered to go all the way to some event to meet other like minded enthusiasts then just go and look at someones car and start asking questions. People ALWAYS like to talk about their cars.
Wherever i go now i always make a point of asking questions - the rest just comes along naturally.
If there are say 100 regular members on a site and you find you cant get on with them - is them or is it you?

Exactly, there was no guarantee that by joining a forum or 'online community' you will have people you can talk to. Some people are better at making friends than others. Some people will just go up to others, say hello and end up being mates aftre chatting for a bit. Whils some people wont talk to you no matter how hard you try. They might just not like the look of you like. lol
