can any one decribe what each of these numbered plates are as even with this pic some are bit tricky

ie numbers
3 ( do these go on top of cross memeber or bottom)
4 ( do these go on top of cross memeber or bottom)

bottom use the single hole to line them up... the tie bar bolt goes though the hole...

Is a sump guard an aftermarket item,
or is it standard on certain novas (gte/gsi) ?

its an after marketitem that can be boght from rally companies wouldn't need it for every day use unless you cant drive

7 and 8 make a box underneath the lower arm mount.. use the cutout as a locator
