it doesn't have one. GTE's and GSI's have them built into the ecu. You can buy them from most motorsports places but the only place i've seen them are demon tweeks. They are easy to fit. Usually just a couple of wires.
Dont buy it from demon tweeks though, well to expensive!
i just got one from motorsport direct as i have a 2.0 8v on 45 webbers with loads of other mods and it just wants to rev all day. trouble is that i have a standard bottom end so i got a limmeter to stop me killin it. mine was 30 quid second hand.

stu, if you dont tell me what it's for, i aint gunna help you. I bet your dad wants it for his lawnmower lol
OMEX supply a range of rev limiters. They are available with shift lights, full throttle gear change and lauch control. They start around ?80 I think.
Chris
Do you need to use a form of engine managment to fit one with twin carbs or can you use on the coil/dizzy setup.
The coil version works fine with twin carbs, you dont need any form of management to run it..

what the rev limiter works on this setup?
i use an armtech rev limiter that has built in shift lights etc etc which is around 120 notes iirc from tweeks and works fine as i found out when i beat a puma racing in one race 3 times cos i set it too low the night before and each time i zoomed past him hit the limiter far to early and had to build up speed again each time

i'm using an omex clubman limiter on mine. set at 6900rpm and works a treat. Just needs a switched ignition, earth and feed from the coil -ve.

I bought one off corsanova-mark and goes to the coil. Real easy to wire, positive, earth and coil.

how safe is falling off a building?
doh
the higher the rev the more damage to the engine.
At the rev limiter, if it is there for any amount of time, things will get hot, starved of oil and will eventualy give up. Expect to snap your con rod bolts and loose a piston, or snap timing belt, or drop a valve. Not good.

all depends on what you want! if you like your valve shaft to be slightly bent then its absolutly amazing!
